However, Kingston’s push fizzled out shortly after his feud with Orton, and fans were left disappointed when the fan-favourite Kingston did not ascend to where many had hoped....
Kingston’s match against the former Universal Champion will be his first pay-per-view title defense since defeating Daniel Bryan for the championship at WrestleMania 35 and facing Seth Rollins the following night. Owens temporarily joined The New Day to fill in for Big E after he got injured, leading to Kingston, Xavier Woods, and Owens teaming up to face Cesaro, Rusev, and Shinsuke Nakamura on the April 16 episode of SmackDown Live....

TMZ Sports did an interview with WWE Legend Kurt Angle where he said he would not be competing in the 2017 Royal Rumble Match. “The Royal Rumble is not going to happen. A lot of people are assuming it, a lot of writers are writing about it … I haven’t talked to WWE about anything after WWE Hall of Fame.” Kurt Angle said there might be a possibility of the company working with him after the Hall of Fame Induction, but that he was only focusing on the Hall of Fame for the time being....

Ricochet was the first wrestler to get eliminated following a Kinshasa from Shinsuke Nakamura. AJ Styles then pinned the Intercontinental Champion and almost immediately got pinned by Robert Roode. In the end, Rey Mysterio picked up the win by pinning Roode after a massive 619 and the Splash. Courtesy of this victory, Mysterio will now challenge Seth Rollins at next week’s ‘RAW Season Premier’ for the WWE Universal Championship....

Ambrose’s contract with Vince McMahon’s company ended in April, and on May 1st, his first day as a free agent, he released an incredible video on his new Twitter account, under the Jon Moxley ring name. Apparently, the bold decision had nothing to do with either Ziggler or The Miz but was more of a strategic decision to get Sami Zayn a huge pop from his home crowd of Canada. WWE wanted to take the traditional approach of a heel vs. face match and thus made this last minute modification. While it was previously reported by the same source, that The Miz won the Elite Championship only for him to drop it to Zayn at Survivor Series, the bout culminated with The Miz coming out on top, with a little help of his better half, Maryse....

Credible worked for Extreme Championship Wrestling, from 1997 until the company’s closure in 2001.
