In case you didn’t know…
Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder weren’t always a team. In fact, WWE actually toyed with the idea of pairing Dawson up with Alexa Bliss in a ‘southern fried" gimmick early on.
But once Dash and Dawson were made a team, they implemented an old-school strategy which was immediately compared to Arn and Tully, two of the greats and members of the legendary 4 Horsemen.
Heart of the matter
Dash Wilder was the first to go out of action when The Revival came to Raw when Shinsuke Nakamura broke his jaw, ironically during their “goodbye tour” of NXT. But now he’s all rested up and tired of staying backstage during Raw.
He recently made a pretty clear statement to Kurt Angle and insulted Angle’s son Jason Jordan in the process. It was a pretty epic tweet and if it translates into a feud for the Top Guys vs 1/3 of The Shield and Jason Jordan for the Raw Tag Team Championships, then it was well worth it.
What’s next?
If The Revival lost their place in line due to those two consecutive ill-timed injuries then hopefully all they need to do is keep waiting it out and they’ll get a shot at Seth Rolling and Jason Jordan soon enough. However, it probably doesn’t matter who they’re facing because Dawson and Wilder are primed and ready to prove themselves against any opponent at this point.
Author’s take
I can’t help it, I love this team. When I hear, “say yeah” at the start of their theme song I can’t help but to mark out at least a little bit. It would be nice to see these guys get up the card where they belong. But if they want a prominent spot at Wrestlemania 34, then something needs to happen quickly for them to travel down 40 miles of bad road and emerge with a set of championship titles.
