The Background
In 2006, Fit Finlay introduced a leprechaun character as his sidekick. His name had a profanity in it when first coming into the WWE Universe but he became Hornswoggle.
Since leaving WWE in 2016 after an impressive ten year run with the company, the former D-Generation X member has seen a lot and is prepared to see even more in the independent scene.
He also goes by Swoggle now, which is something we called him anyway, so that worked out. As he looks back at the last ten years of his life, The King Of Small Style remembers his time in WWE fondly.
The heart of the matter
Swoggle recently spoke to Colt Cabana’s Art Of Wrestling podcast where he revealed the best thing he’s ever done in pro wrestling.
The King Of Small Style has been a part of some amazing angles so it had to be a hard decision to pick just one moment that stands out to him, but he was able to narrow it down to just one. Swoggle said his WeeLC Match vs El Torito during the 2014 Extreme Rules kickoff show had to top the list for him. Thanks to Wrestling Inc for the transcription.
What’s next?
Swoggle will continue to take on the independent wrestling scene to entertain audiences all around the world. He has no shortage of bookings and he can more than impress in the ring. But never say never in regards to Swoggle returning to WWE. All it would take is a phone call.
Author’s take
The WeeLC Match was amazing. I was glued to the edge of my seat as 3MB assisted Swoggle and Torito by helping set to stage for their epic encounter. Even though Swoggle lost, he has a ton to be proud of because it was a great match.
I’ve always loved Swoggle. You could tell he was having fun and soaking in every moment he could in front of the audience when he was in WWE. This article is especially cool for me because I get to see Swoggle tag with Colt Cabana at a Remix Pro Wrestling show on the 16th in Marietta Ohio and I’m super excited about it.
As time marches on Swoggle shows no signs of slowing down and I can’t wait to see what he’ll do next. It would be really cool to eventually see him back in WWE. But at this point with the amount of work he put in during his decade with the company Swoggle should be an eventual inductee into the WWE Hall Of Fame if he stays awesome.
