During his WWE run, Jinder Mahal has primarily been used as an anti-American heel. However, he is also the spearhead of WWE’s push in the Indian market, which means that he has a lot of potential as an ethnic babyface.
The heart of the matter
Jinder Mahal was in India to promote the WWE’s return this December. It is a Raw-branded WWE Live event, but Mahal will be on the tour. With the popularity that he has in India, he would hope that translates to the United States. Here are his thoughts on being a babyface:
He will clearly get a babyface reaction in India, and Jinder hopes that the WWE sees this and will start to kickstart creative to put together a full turn into a good guy. Outside of a small babyface run with his former group 3MB, he has always been a heel in the company.
What’s next?
The next pay per view for the SmackDown Live brand is Survivor Series; which takes place from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas on November 19th. The current rumour is that WWE Champion Jinder Mahal will take on WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar in a Champion vs. Champion match.

Now that Jinder Mahal has established himself as a main event player, I think a babyface turn could be successful, but I wonder if it is something that Vince McMahon would approve.
