Gargano is a former Tag Team Champion in NXT, but he has never been able to lift a singles Championship. He’s someone who was told that he wasn’t good enough to make it when he first tried out in WWE, but he has been pushing to prove himself over the past few years ever since he was given a chance.
The former Champion was promoted to the main roster earlier this year along with Tommaso Ciampa, Ricochet and Aleister Black, but Ciampa’s injury has meant that he was moved back to the NXT brand and will now fight for the vacant Championship rather than on the WrestleMania card.
The heart of the matter
Gargano recently spoke to WWE’s official website where he revealed that he had some lofty goals when it comes to his time in WWE when he’s promoted to the main roster.

NXT Takeover: New York takes place on Friday night April 5th and will see Gargano battle Adam Cole for the NXT Championship.
