In case you didn’t know…
Over WrestleMania weekend, WWE aired the same promotional video several times featuring Paige herself introducing a clip from the film. The clip featured Paige and her brother bumping into the Rock backstage (The Rock playing himself) and he gives them some advice
The heart of the matter
Deadline reports that ‘Fighting with my Family’, which has been written and directed by Stephen Merchant, and is produced by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, has been pushed back from it’s September 2018 release.
As you can see the implication is that the film was moved from September this year to March 1st, 2019 to avoid clashing with Fox’s ‘Predator’ revival. However, the official reason for the move has not yet been revealed.
What’s next?
Paige looks set to continue her role as SmackDown Live General Manager following her emotional retirement from in-ring competition due to a neck injury. So far Paige has booked a dream match between AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan and has managed to secure several new top talents in the Superstar Shakeup.
Author’s take
There are many reasons why films are moved from their initially advertised release date but in the film industry, there aren’t many people who don’t see a push back as a bad thing. However, until more information is known, we can’t speculate one way or the other as to what this means for the film.
