The plans for Smackdown Live were already announced for their next set of shows after WrestleMania.

In case you didn’t know….

WWE fans can consider WrestleMania the Super Bowl of wrestling. To explain further, that’s the one night where most of the biggest feuds of the year culminate in a huge fight that settles the score once and for all. After WrestleMania, it mostly starts over. Wrestlers are booked to new feuds with new writing attached to them.

It’s an exciting time to be a fan of the WWE. Change is always a good thing in wrestling.

The heart of the matter

The venue will normally begin advertising their WWE shows a few months before the event takes place. Unfortunately for hardcore WWE fans, it takes away the element of surprise. The WWE is scheduled to visit Macon, Georgia on May 29 at the Macon Centreplex. These were the matches being advertised for that evening:

It should be noted Randy Orton is not being advertised for the event.

Dean Ambrose vs. Baron Corbin

Alexa Bliss vs. Becky Lynch

The Usos vs. Rhyno and Heath Slater

Dolph Ziggler vs. Apollo Crews

Natalya & Mickie James vs. Nikki Bella & Tamina Snuka.

What’s next?

This is where things will get very interesting. As it turns out, not many of the feuds have changed, according to this report. Therefore, is the WWE just becoming complacent with their programming?

Social media didn’t react well to the March 28th episode of Smackdown Live, and If they didn’t like the current plans, the feelings are not going to change anytime soon.

Author’s take

As a big fan, I was looking forward to new storylines and rivalries among the entire Smackdown Live roster. Instead, Eva Marie isn’t coming back, the same fights are scheduled two months after WrestleMania and the creativity is lacking slightly.

Now, I understand changes can be made. The house shows often showcase different matches too. However, Finn Balor has been wrestling house shows for a month and he’s still not on TV.

Therefore, hope is applicable for the WWE to change these plans, but if they don’t, we’re in for a long Summer.
