In case you didn’t know…
Rey Mysterio is considered, by many, as one of the greatest high flying professional wrestlers to ever step foot into the wrestling industry and throughout the years.
‘The Master of the 619’ has been proving himself to be one of the most innovative and creative luchadors to compete inside the squared circle.
Mysterio, who made his WWE return earlier this year as part of the 2018 Royal Rumble match. He also went on to participate in the first ever 50-man Royal Rumble match at The Greatest Royal Rumble event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The heart of the matter
While interacting with Sean Waltman on the recent edition of his X-Pac 1,2,360 podcast, Rey Mysterio named his three best high flying wrestlers in the business today, picking one each from three different countries. (H/T: Still Real To Us)
According to Mysterio, he believes that the three best high-flying wrestlers in today’s modern day generation are, Rey Fenix from Mexico, Ricochet from the US, and lastly Will Ospreay who has been representing the UK with pride.
In addition, Mysterio also spoke about a potential match with former WWE colleague and current Bullet Club member Cody Rhodes, claiming that he’d absolutely love to cross-paths with ‘The American Nightmare’ once again in the near future, but this time in an NJPW ring.
What’s next?
Rey Mysterio is currently scheduled to compete for NJPW later next month at their Dominion pay-per-view, in what will also be Mysterio’s debut for the company.
Author’s take
I absolutely agree with Rey Mysterio’s list and I do believe that Rey Fenix, Ricochet, and Will Ospreay are indeed among the three best high-flying wrestlers today, if not the best overall.
